The city government said a total of 11, 713 graduates, even if they are not residents of Makati, will still receive the cash incentive through electronic money or e-money transfer.
According to Binay, graduates from Grades 6 and 12 will each receive P1,000 as cash incentive, except for those who have graduated with academic honors as they are entitled to cash incentives from P2,000 to P5,000.
She noted that this will be the first time that the local government will give cash incentive to non-honor graduates, saying that such is to help their families during the enhanced community quarantine.
“For the first time, we will be awarding a P1,000-cash incentive to all non-honor graduates from Grade 6 and Grade 12, residents and non-residents alike. We would like to help augment their family’s resources, most especially those whose parents have lost their livelihood while the enhanced community quarantine remains in effect," the mayor said.
"We will be using contactless distribution so the students will not have to go out and get the money themselves. We will credit their incentives to their parents' GCash account instead," she added.
Per the approved incentive program for honor graduates from the city's public elementary and senior high schools this year, graduates "with honors" will each receive P2,000, "with high honors" P3,000, and “with highest honors” P5,000 each.
To get the cash incentive, the local government said, students must log in to the portal www.proudmakatizen.com, click on Student Portal, then type in their 12-digit Learner Reference Number (LRN) on the space provided. Then, their profile will appear with two options on how they want to claim their cash incentive.
The students have two options. If they pick Option 1, they will receive the incentive within three days through GCash. Option 2 is they can claim the incentive at their respective schools after the quarantine has been lifted.
For Option 1, the students will need to give their parent’s or guardian’s details, including their current mobile phone number, so a GCash account can be made for them. They need to fill out the spaces for Last Name, First Name, Middle Name, Birth Date, and cellphone number.
