DSWD: Over P2.51 billion distributed in NCR under SAP

More than P2.51 billion worth of emergency subsidies have been distributed to almost 350,000 beneficiaries of the Social Amelioration Program (SAP) in Metro Manila, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) said on Monday, April 27.

Based on the DSWD’s SAP Monitoring Dashboard for Emergency Subsidy, out of P12.46 billion SAP funds transferred to the 17 local government units (LGUs) in the National Capital Region (NCR), a total of P2,512,123,700 has been disbursed and received by 349,915 low-income households in Metro Manila.

Of the total number of poor families who received the cash aid in the NCR, 137,177 are non-beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps).

Of the 17 LGUs, Caloocan city recorded the highest SAP payout to low-income and non-Pantawid Pamilya families amounting to P261 million for 32,636 beneficiaries, based on the DSWD data. Meanwhile, San Juan city recorded the lowest payout, distributing P2.67 million subsidies to 334 beneficiaries, it said.

Next to Caloocan city, Pasig city registered the second highest payout amounting to P160.13 million for 20, 017 beneficiaries, followed by Valenzuela with P140.46 million for 17,558 beneficiaries, Manila with P82.79 million for 10,349 beneficiaries, and Quezon city with P78.38 million for 9,798 beneficiaries.

In terms of SAP payout to non-4Ps households, Parañaque landed the sixth spot, distributing P77.89 million for 9,737 beneficiaries. It was followed by Marikina, P77.32 million for 9,665 beneficiaries; Mandaluyong, P60 million for 7,509 beneficiaries; Taguig, P54.12 million for 6,765 beneficiaries; Las Piñas, P26.2 million for 3,275 beneficiaries; Malabon, P23.15 million for 2,894 beneficiaries; Navotas, P17.928 million for 2,241 beneficiaries.

Pasay got the 13th spot with more than P12.54 million distributed to non-4Ps SAP recipients, followed by Pateros, P9.44 million for 1,181 beneficiaries; Makati, P7 million for 878 beneficiaries; Muntinlupa, P6.17 million for 772 beneficiaries; and San Juan, P2.67 million for 334 beneficiaries.

In the NCR, low-income households are entitled to receive P8,000 cash aid.

The DSWD has transferred P12.46 billion SAP funds to 17 LGUs to benefit 1,558, 615 target low-income, non-4Ps families in the NCR.

The breakdown of the P12.46 billion SAP funds transferred to Metro Manila LGUs is as follows: Manila, P1.485 billion; Quezon city, P3.020 billion; Caloocan P1.726 billion; Las Piñas, P541.9 million; Malabon, P335.048 million; Makati, P558.30 million; Mandaluyong, P368.37 million; Marikina, P449.88 million; Muntinlupa, P430.68 million; Navotas, P223.82 million; Parañaque, P621.39 million; Pasay, P370.28 million; Pasig, P750.93 million; Pateros, P53.65 million; San Juan, P130.47 million; Taguig, P739.77 million; and Valenzuela, P661.66 million.
