"The 'LGU VS. COVID PH INFORMATION PORTAL' contains updates, innovations, and best practices to better equip local government units as well as the public with important information for combatting COVID-19," said DILG.

The portal is easy-to-use for local officials as well as the public, for it has a search tool where you can search for topics or concerns related to the pandemic.

An LGU representative who wishes to request information related to the COVID-19 response can send a "request information" through the portal.

"The portal was first initiated by Golda and Caryl Benjamin as a Google Site after the implementation of the Enhanced Community Quarantine in Luzon, with support from volunteers," according to the information in the portal.

It has been expanded and redesigned with technical and financial support from the Asia Foundation. The funding was supported by the Australian government.

The portal was created in cooperation with the DILG.
