Karren Nobres, information manager said that through SM Foundation, and in coordination with the Department of Health, Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong, and the test kit producer Manila Healthtek, Baguio General Hospital is one of the first recipients of local GenAmplify PCR test kits, and is among the hospitals SM is donating
P30 million worth of test kits to, which is equivalent to 20,000 tests.

She said the Manila Healthtek GenAmplify PCR test kits, developed by UP-NIH scientists, are badly needed in the city’s fight against COVID-19 to bolster the mass testing requirements of the country.

SM Foundation also provided BGHMC with supplemental testing accessories including hyperfilter tips, system racks, and cryovials.

The foundation previously donated BGH 1 ICU-grade ventilator and two shipments of PPE sets including full suits, gloves, masks, and alcohol.
