The National Center for Mental Health (NCMH) clarified the reports circulating online that they are not accepting donations amid coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic are unverified information.

NCMH chief Dr. Roland Cortez said that the Mandaluyong-based hospital is accepting any kind of donations including personal protective equipment (PPEs) and food packs in working to prevent the spread of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

“The official statement from the management is being issued as there are people within NCMH circulating FAKE NEWS, unverified information through Facebook to put DOH-NCMH in a bad light to the public,” Cortez said in a statement on April 18. “Who would ever deny donations when it helps the hospital a lot in the fight against COVID-19,” he underscored.

NCMH chief assured the public that the hospital is transparent in donations that they receive. A list of donations can be found in their official website and the hospital’s book accounts for verification.

“We thank all of you for including NCMH as one of the institutions you are supporting,” he said.
