Barangay chiefs in Pasay City are reminded to extend the window hours in their localities to avoid congestion in marketplaces and drug stores.

“Kahit na may community quarantine tayo, kailangang bigyan natin ng sapat na oras ang ating mga mamamayan na mamili ng kanilang pagkain at gamot (Even though we are under a community quarantine, we need to give ample time to our citizens to buy food and medicine),” Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano said.

She added that the longer window hours will help shorten long queues and decongest public markets.

The mayor also issued a new market day scheme in all public markets:

Barangays 1 to 40; Barangays 68 to 92; Barangays 145 to 157; Barangay 183; and Barangays 187 to 201 will have market days on Mondays, Wednesday, and Fridays.

Barangays 41 to 67; Barangays 93 to 144; Barangays 158 to 182; and Barangays 184 to 156 will be on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

Sundays are reserved for frontliners and other cities. Markets will be open from 5 a.m. onwards. The scheduled barangays can go to the markets as long as they are open.

“Only residents wearing face masks with valid quarantine passes will be allowed access to the public market only on the dates specified,” the mayor said.

She also advised residents to strictly observe social distancing in public areas.

The Department of the Interior and Local Government had earlier ordered local government units not to impose limited window hours.
