Malabon residents who will be caught outside their houses without quarantine pass and essential business to do will be nabbed by authorities, the local government warned.
In its Facebook page, the city government said that it would start enforcing “quarantine passes” policy after the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) issued an order to lift the implementation of window hours scheme for market goers.
“Bagamat wala ng unified window hours…ang mga pinahihintulutan lamang lumabas mula 5AM hanggang 8PM ay mga Malabonian na may quarantine passes at mga essential personnel na exempted sa quarantine [Although there is no longer unified window hours scheme, those who will be allowed to go outside their houses from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. are those who have quarantine passes and are essential personnel exempted in the quarantine]…” the Malabon government said.
“Ang lahat ng nakatambay sa labas ng bahay na walang quarantine pass at hindi essential personnel ay huhulihin ng mga kapulisan, kasama ang mga tauhan ng pamahalaang lungsod [Residents without quarantine pass who are seen outside, as well as non-essential personnel, will be arrested by police and city personnel],” it added.
On Monday alone, law enforcers collared 15 individuals “for the violation of the quarantine pass” policy. They were brought to “holding area for processing” and would “be charged for the violation of quarantine rules,” according to the local government.
The DILG has acknowledged the use of quarantine passes to restrict the movement of people in their respective areas.
But the department reminded that quarantine passes should not be the basis to allow or prohibit an individual from entering a market or any establishment as Filipinos have the right to freely buy supplies.
