Malabon residents seen in public without quarantine pass to be arrested — local gov't

Malabon residents who will be caught outside their houses without quarantine pass and essential business to do will be nabbed by authorities, the local government warned.

In its Facebook page, the city government said that it would start enforcing “quarantine passes” policy after the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) issued an order to lift the implementation of window hours scheme for market goers.

On Monday alone, law enforcers collared 15 individuals “for the violation of the quarantine pass” policy. They were brought to “holding area for processing” and would “be charged for the violation of quarantine rules,” according to the local government.

The DILG has acknowledged the use of quarantine passes to restrict the movement of people in their respective areas.

But the department reminded that quarantine passes should not be the basis to allow or prohibit an individual from entering a market or any establishment as Filipinos have the right to freely buy supplies.
