Pampanga reports 21 more COVID-19 cases

SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga – The Regional Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (RESU) has listed an additional 21 cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in the province.

To date, there are now 58 cases in Pampanga as declared by the Department of Health (DOH).

The additional cases were recorded in Angeles, Bacolor, Macabebe, Mexico, Sta. Ana, Sta. Rita, and Lubao, and seven in this city.

Meanwhile, municipalities of Sasmuan, Sto. Tomas and Magalang recorded their first cases of the coronavirus disease.

“Person Under Investigation from Barangay San Francisco tests positive case. ‘M1’ is a female, 31-year old frontliner who is now confined within Jose B. Lingad Regional Memorial Hospital and will not be discharged until tested negative on her repeat results”. Mayor Romy Pecson of Magalang discloses.

The municipalities of Arayat, Minalin, San Luis and Masantol remain free of COVID-19.

Alarmed by the swift rise in the numbers of of person infected with COVID-19, Angeles Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr. ordered the cancellation of quarantine passes issued by barangays in Angeles City.

“Only passes from city hall will be acknowledged in control points in Angeles,” Lazatin
said in his public announcement on April 17.

Laztin clarified that there will be no closure of public markets, supermarket, drugstores, banks and remittance centers. He appealed to public not to patronize fake news circulating all over social media.

“Information disseminated from Angeles City Information Office are the ones genuine about the city. Please refrain from sharing posts from unauthorized pages to avoid panic.” Lazatin stressed.
