Emmanuel John Castro, Content Operations Manager of TikTok Philippines, said the platform is also making sure that videos that promote safety measures can be seen by its users in the country.

“Ever since the quarantine started, people have started to create videos that promote safety...there’s been a lot of videos as well that promote staying at home,” Castro told ANC on Thursday.

TikTok has also launched different campaigns on the platform in relation to COVID-19 to boost the Filipino community’s morale.

“We’ve launched hashtag campaigns that would give them some sort of format to create videos. One hashtag is #LoveInTheTimeOfCorona. With this enhanced community quarantine in effect the only thing people should be spreading right now is love,” Castro said.

The video-sharing app has also partnered with health agencies like the World Health Organization and the Department of Health in order to also promote “right information” about COVID-19 in the platform through live streaming.

“This is our way of letting these organizations reach these demographics ,” Castro said.
