Stricter market rules
Belmonte ordered the strict implementation of precautionary measures such as social distancing and sanitation procedures in all city’s markets.
She directed market authorities of the eight city-run markets and 73 privately-owned markets including the talipapas (street markets) to ensure that the areas of the vacant spaces or walkways of these markets are computed based on the walkway-to-individual ratio.
In maintaining crowd control and social distancing, Belmonte said there will be single entry and exit points in all the city’s markets
She reminded the public that the city’s markets will be open only from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. everyday.
