After all but two of 16 coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients started to make their way to recovery after testing negative for the deadly virus, the Cagayan Valley Medical Center (CVMC) drew praise for its “outstanding level of care”.

“Amazing that a government hospital in the province has registered zero mortality of COVID-9 patients," said Arthur Bariuad, a Cagayano based in the United States but on vacation in the province told the Philippine Information Agency (PIA).

Many likewise noted that it was exceptional that CVMC could perform at such a level when it had, in the past, been “equated to substandard service because of the lack in facilities, and equipment”.

Cagayan Third District Board Member Maila Ting-Que also expressed her praise to the CVMC team.

"Kudos to our doctors and nurses and staff because we have an excellent record for recovery- it means we have the best teams in CVMC," she said.

As of Monday, April 13, CVMC has handled 16 COVID-19 cases, with 14 of these testing negative after second swab retests.

Only two patients, identified as PH3668 and PH3773, who are both health workers from Tuguegarao City, continue to be admitted at the CVMC.

And according to CVMC Chief Dr. Glenn Mathew Baggao, both were already in stable in condition.
