4 COVID-19 patients recover in La Union

SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union – Four coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients at the Ilocos Training Regional and Medical Center (ITRMC) here have reportedly recovered and discharged.

Three patients were released April 12 after receiving their second negative COVID-19 test results.

The first was 44-year-old male from Barangay Sevilla, San Fernando City, La Union who was admitted on March 18, and confirmed positive on April 1. His first negative result was released on April 9.

The second patient was a 69-year-old female from Barangay Baraoas, Naguilian town who was also on March 26 and confirmed positive on March 31. Her first negative result was released on April 8.

A 57-year-old female from San Carlos, Caba town was the third patient. She was admitted on March 26, and confirmed positive on March 31. Her first negative result was released on April 8.

The other patient was a 50-year-old female from Santa Ana, Agoo town. She was confirmed positive on March 31, and was admitted at ITRMC on April 1. She was the first patient released after second tested negative results on April 10.

Meanwhile, Gov. Francisco Emmanuel R. Ortega III confirmed that there was a new COVID-19 case confirmed by the Department of Health Center for Health Development Region 1 announced its results Monday, April 13.

The COVID-19 positive patient was a 30 year-old female frontliner from Pugo town. She is now on strict home quarantine after she had exposure to a known positive patient.

The province of La Union has recorded 14 cases of COVID-19, three of whom are at the ITRMC, three on home quarantine. There were four fatalities.
