Department of Health (DOH) Officer-in-Charge Director III Dr. Leticia Cabrera announced Friday, April 10, a new coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) case in the Cagayan Valley region.

Cabrera said patient PH4200 was a 31-year-old woman, and was a health worker from San Agustin, Isabela, who had travel history to Manila.

She went home to the province on March 30, and underwent self-quarantine. But on April 6 she was admitted to Santiago Medical City when she experienced coughing and occasional difficulty in breathing.

Specimen sample was taken from her, and two days after submitting her sample, the result came back saying that she was positive for COVID-19. She is currently in the care of the Santiago Medical City.

Contact tracing is underway, according to the DOH, through the Regional Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit, and in coordination with Isabela Provincial Government and the local government of San Agustin.
