Pangasinan gov’t deploys misting cannons to disinfect COVID-19 affected areas

DAGUPAN CITY – Governor Amado I. Espino III has ordered the conduct of misting cannon operations to disinfect the environment where suspected coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) subjects were reported.

The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) and Provincial Engineering Office (PEO) have implemented the misting cannon operations in some pre-determined areas in Alaminos, and Infanta.

Misting was also conducted in Tebag, Sta. Barbara to sanitize the farmers pavillion located at the Provincial Agriculture Office, which has been converted into a half-way house where recovered patients under investigation (PUIs) will complete their 14-day quarantine.

Misting was also conducted in Infanta, particularly at the back of the town hall and its nearby vicinity, including the public market compound. Infanta has one confirmed COVID-19 case now being treated in a hospital.

Misting operation was likewise conducted in Alaminos City to disinfect the residence of a reported COVID-19 case in Barangay Telbang. All thoroughfares in the area were also sanitized.

All responders were required to appropriate personal protective equipment.
