Mayor Imelda Aguilar is also looking after the health and wellbeing of these workers for them to be safe from being affected by the corona virus 2019 (COVID-19).

Aguilar said that these workers were also putting their lives at risk not just to earn but also to continue in serving the city residents.

She also said that those individuals must also wear face shields because they are dealing with different individuals everyday.

The city mayor added that distributing face shields to them would also help the city control the spread of the virus.

Recently, through bayanihan, a group of private female individuals volunteered to create face shields to help the city government. These face shields were distributed to hospitals, lying-in clinics, and health centers located in the city.

Aguilar is thankful to the private individuals who volunteered as these face shields were a big help to all city frontliners, the police, doctors and nurses, health workers, and barangay volunteers.

She also noted that the city government is continuing its distribution of facemasks and sanitizers to seven hospitals and 30 health centers in the city to help the frontliners fight the spread of the virus.

Aguilar is continuing to appeal to city resident to practice discipline in following the protocols to control the spread of COVID-19.
