Social Security System (SSS) members can avail of a P20,000 calamity loan to aid them in dealing with the complications posed by coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) to health and their means of living.

In an interview Dobol B sa News TV on GMA-7, SSS head of public affairs and special division Fernan Nicolas said that this benefit will available to members in two weeks.
More important, an SSS member can even apply for this loan online.
Nicolas explained that the they need to program their computers to allow applicants to apply for such a loan, which they are offering for the first time.
He assured though that by the second week of April, the said benefit will already be available.
This move is in line with government’s policy to discourage over-the-counter or person-to-person transaction because of the theat that COVID-19 poses.
