“(NBI) Director (Eric) Distor has already ordered all regional and district offices and Manila operating divisions to conduct investigations on this in coordination with LGUs (local government units) and other counterparts,” NBI Deputy Director and spokesperson Ferdinand Lavin said.

Distor gave the directive after President Duterte warned local officials last Monday, March 30, that the NBI will run after them for violating quarantine rules set by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management on Emerging Infectious Disease (IATF-EID).

He warned violators will face both administrative and criminal charges.
