In her letter, which contained her warm message, Robredo praised COVID-19 frontliners for their dedication and courage in caring for patients infected with the deadly virus.

“Sa ating mga health workers at frontliners, maraming maraming salamat po...Saludo po kami sa inyong buong puso at buong tapang na paglilingkod sa ating mga kababayan,” she wrote.

(To our health workers and frontliners, thank you very much...We salute you for serving our countrymen with your whole heart and courage.)

The frontliners who received the letters were the recipients of the personal protective equipment (PPE) sets donated by Robredo’s office and partner-donors.

The note appeared to be an effort to show love and support for them and boost their morale amid the ongoing health crisis.

“Patunay ito na sa panahon ng pangangailangan, mas lumalabas ang ating kabayanihan. Hindi po kayo nag-iisa, at sabay-sabay nating mapagtatagumpayan ang laban na ito,” Robredo said.

(This is a proof in times of need, our collective cooperation comes out. You’re not alone, we will all together triumph in this fight.)

This letter was publicized by Dr. Bettina Morales, chair of the Department of Pediatrics at Asian Hospital and Medical Center, on her Facebook account which circulated online.

“About a week ago, someone sent me a message saying that I just need to draft a letter to request for PPE from the office of the Vice President. Nothing to lose I said. Today I received boxes of PPEs from them, helping me see good in the midst of all this,” she said in a post.

A twitter user also posted another letter of the vice president to COVID-19 frontliners from Bulacan.

Robredo also gave her thanks to these health workers and other personnel, recognizing them as “true heroes” during these difficult times.
