Japan suspends visas from the Philippines

The Japanese government is canceling validity of single and multiple-entry visas issued in the Philippines and 38 Schengen member States prior March 27 and shall take effect on March 28 due to the pandemic. APEC Business Travel Cards are also waived throughout April and will resume once stated.

According to the Philippine Embassy in Japan’s official Facebook page, there will also be an enhanced quarantine measures for incoming travelers from the Philippines. Specifically those who enter Japanese territory from the Philippines will be asked to undergo a 14-day quarantine period at locations designated by quarantine officers at their ports of entry. They will additionally be asked to refrain from using public transportation before the quarantine period is exhausted.

The embassy has yet to respond on confirmations regarding the duration of restriction and exemptions and status of work visas.
