BALANGA, Bataan – The province of Bataan posted three new coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases, even as it also reported the recovery of its first confirmed virus disease patient.

This was disclosed by Provincial Health Office Head Dr. Rosanna Buccahan who said the three confirmed COVID-19 patients were under quarantine at the Bataan General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) where they were all doing well.

“The first case is a 53-year-old male from Abucay town who was working in Rizal province,” she said. The patient reportedly complained of diarrhea, and was admitted at the BGHMC last March 23.

Buccahan said the second case was a 58-year old man from Samal town who came from Manila, and was admitted at BGHMC last March 21 due to diarrhea, stomach ache and fever.

The third case, she added, was a 44-year old male from Mariveles town, who did not have any travel history. He was admitted last March 22 complaining of difficulty in breathing and fever.

“All three do not show any symptoms anymore. They are in stable condition and are being given proper medical care. We are awaiting the Department of Health (DOH) case confirmation for them as of now,” Buccahan said.

Contact-tracing is currently being undertaken for the three patients by the DOH, PHO, and Municipal Health Offices (MHO) of Samal, Abucay and Mariveles, through the help of the respective Barangay Health Emergency Response Team (BHERT) where the patients come from.

Meanwhile, Bataan PHO shared a piece of good news with the recovery and discharge of patient PH64MJ32 from the St. Joseph’s Hospital after his bout with COVID-19.

According to Bataan PHO, the 32-year old professor is now under home quarantine and will be tested again for COVID-19 after the completion of his 14-day isolation.
