The Kabataan Kontra Corona project of SK – Caragnag included “Talakayan sa Radyo” where they broadcast their discussion related to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), through the Centralized Public Address System of their barangay. This was also used to refute every fake news circulating online.

Moreover, a contact center was established by the youth council to intensify dissemination of information and updates on COVID-19 every three hours, through the System Generated SMS. This also serves as their hotlines for emergencies with the help of Barangay Health Emergency Response Team (BHERT).

To make people stay indoors amid the pandemic, the council also came up with an online contest using a video-sharing social media app where winners will be chosen on the last day of the enhanced community quarantine.

Joal Cocjin, SK Chairman of Caragnag, narrated that the purpose of the online contest was to stabilize the youth.

“Our main objective is to reinforce stay-at-home policy. Kahit nasa bahay sila, they can be productive” Cocjin said.

Furthermore, the council also distributed health kits containing hygiene essentials, multivitamins, and disinfectants together with Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) Materials from World Health Organization (WHO) which were translated in Bikol for the convenience of their constituents.
