Citing an initial investigation conducted by the Bureau of Correction (BuCor) Undersecretary Markk Perete said a PDL convicted of murder and attempted murder went amuck at around 3:30 a.m. and was killed during the incident.

“He used an improvised bladed weapon to stab his fellow inmates,” Perete said.

“While the other dorm occupants attempted to subdue him, they were eventually forced to defend themselves from the assailant’s attempts to stab them,” he added.

Perete declined to identify the slain assailants and his two victims until their respective families have been notified and assured a continuing investigation on the incident.

“We are still verifying the cause of the incident. All possible motives are being looked into,” he added.
