CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan -- Mayor Gilbert “Bebong” Gatchalian has confirmed this city’s second coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) case Monday afternoon.

Gatchalian said the City Health Office (CHO) has immediately conducted contact tracing for persons encountered by the latest COVID-19 positive patient in the past few days, and also to know where he could have gotten the virus.

Gatchalian said that the patient was already in a hospital, while his family was in their home undergoing monitoring.

The mayor advised his constituents to stay at home because it was the safest way to avoid the coronavirus disease while the enhanced community quarantine Luzon wide persisted.

"Palagian tayong maghugas ng kamay, kumain ng masusustansiyang pagkain at panatilihin ang social distancing upang maiwasan ang posibleng pagkalat ng nakamamatay na virus," Gatchalian said.

There are two each in San Jose del Monte, Malolos and San Ildefonso; and one each in Guiguinto and Baliaug.
