Imee Marcos no-show at Congress special session due to cough

Pro-administration Senator Imee R. Marcos said Monday her physician advised her not to attend the Senate special session to debate on and pass the proposed Bayanihan Act of 2020 authorizing the President to use unspent government finances to resolve the negative effects of the coronavirus crisis.

Through her spokesperson, Marcos said she has ‘’ubo’’ (cough) and ‘’the doctor didn’t give her clearance to attend the session.’’

Through her legislative staff, Marcos suggested amendments to certain portions of the proposed bill being debated on the Congress floor.
