The video, as of this posting, has already been viewed more than 420,000 times and gotten more than 15,000 reactions on Facebook.

Most of the reactions were either likes or heart emojis.

The 3-minute demo video has also been shared more than 2,100 times after it was posted Friday.

With his signature candid demeanor, Mayor Isko gave those watching a step-by-step tutorial on how to make an improvised face shield, injecting some humor every now and then.

The local chief executive said in the video that they don’t how many they will be able to make, but assured viewers that the face shields will be distributed to the frontliners in the fight against coronavirus disease.

“Mahirap ba o madali? (Is difficult or easy to do?),” Mayor Isko asked his audience.

The captive audience replied that it was not difficult to do, to the delight of the Manila Mayor.

The DIY face shield can be mass-produced because it is easy to make and the materials are cheap.

As the Manila mayor said himself, “Mukha lang 'tong marupok pero matibay ‘to." (It just looks thin, but it’s quite durable).
