Piñol submits self to quarantine after trip to Malaysia

DAVAO CITY --Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA) Chairman Emmanuel Piñol has voluntarily gone on self-quarantine for one week after he and two members of his staff arrived from the World Islamic Economic Forum in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia.

Piñol announced on Thursday in a statement released by MinDA that he will submit himself to medical check-up and stay in his farm for a week.

He also issued an order suspending work at MinDA offices on Friday, March 13.

Piñol said he also ordered the creation of a 10-man skeletal force, headed by senior officers, to man the office on a daily rotation basis.

The secretary also said he advised the employees of MinDA to stay home, but continue linkages with their clients through digital communications.
