Valenzuela City Mayor Rex Gatchalian is currently undergoing self-quarantine as a preventive measure against coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Gatchalian on Thursday afternoon confirmed to Manila Bulletin that he is “already at home and undergoing self-quarantine,” taking initiative “like the other mayors.”
Gatchalian disclosed this as he was also present in an event last week, where one attendee eventually tested positive for COVID-19.
“I am ,” Gatchalian gave assurance.
The city council of Valenzuela City is scheduled on Thursday afternoon to hold a special session where concerns on panic buying and hoarding of basic necessities will be discussed.
