CAMP DIEGO SILANG, La Union – Two persons were killed, while two others were hurt, in separate motorcycle accidents along the Luna-Bacnotan road, reports from this camp said Sunday.

Police identified the fatalities as Felix Estabillo, 33, security guard and resident of Barangay Alcala, and Arthur Sampaga, 44, mechanic, resident of Barangay Nagrebcan, both in Luna town.

Initial investigation showed that, at about 12:30 a.m., Estabillo was on his motorcycle with two back-riders – Rene Cabida and Fernando de Guzman – and was headed home in Barangay Alcala when he suddenly lost control of his bike and rammed into an electric post.

Because of the impact, Estabilllo suffered severe head injuries and was pronounced dead on-arrival at a local hospital, while his two companies were still recuperating from injuries sustained in the mishap.

The other fatal accident came a few hours later after Sampaga, who was also travelling on the Luna-Bacnotan road, also lost control of his motorcycle and slammed into a tree. He, too, suffered severe head injuries, and was declared dead on-arrival at the hospital.
