TESDA Secretary Isidro Lapeña and NHA General Manager Marcelino Escalada, Jr. signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Tuesday.

"To me, this is a very good gesture. We are lucky to have someone like General Sid in TESDA who is very supportive," said Escalada.

The MOU states that through its provincial and district offices, TESDA will provide free suitable training to NHA Housing beneficiaries and relocatees.

It will also assess the graduates, issue the corresponding national certificates, and facilitate their employment.

"Together with NHA, we are really happy to help especially former rebels, indigenous people, and other communities in need of our services," Lapeña responded.

The NHA will identify appropriate programs and other interventions that will enhance the employability and entrepreneurship qualities of the housing beneficiaries, provide venue and other logistical support for the training, and ensure their cooperation and participation.
