In an interview, Pabillo said the meeting “was just a courtesy (visit) of PNP and AFP leadership in NCR (National Capital Region)," he said.

Pope Francis appointed the prelate apostolic administrator of the archdiocese of Manila after former Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle assumed his post as prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples in the Vatican last month.

During the visit, Pabillo said they also discussed the security preparations for the upcoming observance of Holy Week.

He said part of the security plan is to deploy additional PNP personnel in churches. "Deploy more (personnel) and per request by parishes."

Aside from Holy Week security, the bishop said they also agreed to set up regular channels of dialogue.

Among those present at the meeting was NCR Police Office chief Maj. Gen. Debold Sinas.
