The Commission on Elections (Comelec) announced on Thursday that voter registration in Batangas and Cavite will resume on Feb. 3.

The poll body earlier suspended registration in some areas of Batangas and Cavite due to the Taal Volcano eruption.
In a statement, Comelec Spokesman James Jimenez said registration will now resume because "normal working conditions" have returned to these areas:

Comelec said voter registration in Mataas na Kahoy, Batangas will resume on Feb.10.
Voter registration resumed nationwide last Jan. 20 except in some areas, and will run until Sept. 30, 2021.
