The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) suspended on Thursday mail acceptance and deliveries within the affected areas in Batangas due to Taal Volcano's eruption last Sunday.

"The cancellation of flights in previous days caused by the eruption of Taal volcano and the suspension of work at its main hub at Central Mail Exchange Center in Pasay City has affected its international and provincial dispatches and are now experiencing delays," PHLPost said in a statement.

PHLPost said it is monitoring the situation and advised the public to keep updated on further announcements.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said Alert Level 4 remains hoisted over Taal Volcano, warning about a possible hazardous explosive eruption within hours or days.
