The Civil Service Commission (CSC) has reminded that those from Luzon and Visayas, who are interested to enter the government service, have until Wednesday next week to file their applications for the March 15 Career Service Examination-Pen and Paper Test (CSE-PPT) in both Professional and Sub-professional levels.

The application period for the March 15 CSE-PPT started on December 16, 2019 and will end on January 15, Wednesday.

"Application period for the 15 March 2020 CSE-PPT will run from 16 December 2019 to 15 January 2020 in all regions in Luzon and Visayas,” the CSC said in a statement.

However, the filing of application in Mindanao, specifically Regions IX to XII, Caraga, and Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), already lapsed last Friday, January 10.

The CSC announced that the second CSE-PPT is set on August 9, 2020.

It said applications may be submitted from May 11 to June 10 at the CSC Regional Office (CSC RO) with jurisdiction over the testing center where they wish to take the test, or at any of the CSC RO’s Field Offices (CSC FO).

Acceptance of applications shall be on a first-come, first-served basis and shall be closed any time before the deadline if the CSC RO or FO has already reached its target number of applicants, the CSC said.

The applicants are required to submit the following requirements: fully accomplished CS Form No. 100, revised September 2016 (available at any CSC RO/FO or downloadable from the CSC website at www.csc.gov.ph); four identical passport size I.D. pictures with name tag; original and photocopy of an I.D. card, which is preferably valid (not expired) on the date of filing; and pay a fee of P500.

The applicants are advised to "comply with the complete list of specifications of the requirements listed on CSC Examination Announcement No. 8, s. 2019 for faster processing of their applications.," the Commission said.

Found on CSC Examination Announcement No. 8, s. 2019 are the complete list of testing centers, admission requirements, and other important details regarding application for the 2020 career service exams.

Qualified to take the CSE are Filipino citizens, regardless of educational attainment, who are at least 18 years old at the time of filing of application, and have not taken the same level of CSE within three months before the date of examination.

As a general abilitity test, the CSE is aimed at measuring an individual’s preparedness to enter government service.

Passing the CSE would result in the conferment of either Professional or Subprofessional eligibility that is needed, among others, for permanent appointment to corresponding career service positions in the government except those that involve the practice of profession or are covered by special laws, the CSC said.
