According to Mayor Jerry P. Treñas, a total of 14 local government units (LGUs) in Aklan, Antique, Capiz, and Iloilo provinces will avail a financial aid of P300,000 each.

“We were also a victim of calamity. This was when Frank hit us in 2008, and other LGUs helped us recover,” Treñas noted.

“It is but proper that we should also give back by helping the disaster-stricken LGUs,” Treñas added.

Of the four provinces, Iloilo has the most number of recipients LGUs with four.  These are the towns of Balasan, Batad, Carles, and Concepcion.

Aklan province has three recipients.  These are the towns of Ibajay, Kalibo and Malay.

The province of Antique also has three recipients. These are the towns of Caluya, Libertad and Pandan.

Lastly, Capiz province has two recipients.  These include the capital city of Roxas and the town of Sigma.

The financial aid will be taken from the Quick Response Fund (QRF) for Disaster Risk Reduction Management.
