A 4.9-magnitude earthquake struck off the waters of Davao Occidental Sunday afternoon, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) reported.

The earthquake, which was recorded at 5:12 p.m, was tectonic in origin and was traced 114 kilometers southwest of Sarangani, Davao Occidental.
The quake had a depth of 14 kilometers and was felt at Intensity I in General Santos City; Alabel and Malungon, Sarangani; and Tupi, South Cotabato.
No aftershocks and damages are expected.
Meanwhile, the US Geological Survey, recored the quake's strength at magnitude 5.2.
