A 4.0-magnitude earthquake hit Davao Occidental Saturday afternoon, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) reported.

The quake, which occurred at 4:38 p.m. was tectonic in origin and was traced 175 kilometers southeast of Jose Abad Santos, Davao Occidental.
It had a dept of 9 kilometers.
No aftershocks and damages are expected.
