NBI issues over 1,000 clearances for free to first-time jobseekers

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) said it has given out free NBI clearance certificates to a total of 1,032 first-time job seekers this year.

NBI Deputy Director Jose Justo Yap said the free NBI clearance certificates were issued pursuant to Republic Act 11261, the First Time Jobseekers Assistance Act.

The NBI official noted that the free NBI clearance certificates were issued after it release last October 21 the Guidelines in the Implementation of the RA 11261.

Yap said more free NBI clearance certificates will be issued once more NBI clearance satellite and clearance processing centers are established.

He noted that there are currently130 satellite offices and centers.

Yap pointed out this expansion was a priority project of the NBI which would also be in line with the directive of President Rodrigo Duterte to simplify government processes and bring government services closer to the people.

The NBI noted that last year its Information and Communications Technology Division (ICTD) processed and issued a total of 7,520,791 NBI clearance certificates.
