Major Gideon Ines Jr., Makati City Police Investigation Unit chief, said that victim Zhou Mei’s partner Chen Tangbin and the security guards at their condominium unit told him that Mei had returned home safe on Sunday.

Ines added that Tangbin did not give any other details about Mei's alleged safe return.

Police earlier said Tangbin and his friend Zhu Jianwe are persons of interest in the abduction after their names appeared in the deed of sale for a Honda Accord worth P1 million that was recovered at the crime scene.

On Sunday, police identified the four Chinese nationals behind the abduction as Song Xifei; Guo Ebin; Zhang Xipeng; and Guo Wanshun. All are POGO workers, based on the retrieved identification cards.
