Major Gideon Ines Jr., Makati Police Investigation Unit chief said they recovered a driver’s license and police IDs that the suspects could have left behind after the kidnapping.

“We believe that they left these behind while in the act of kidnapping the woman,” Ines told the Manila Bulletin Tuesday early Morning.

“We strongly believe that the victim was a Chinese national and those behind the kidnapping were also Chinese nationals,” he added.

The incident reportedly happened along Paseo de Roxas in Legazpi Village, Makati, investigators said.

Meanwhile, when asked why the woman in the video was shouting in Filipino “Tulong! (Help me!” Ines said: “ some Chinese nationals have learned to speak in Filipino since they’ve been staying in the country for a long time.”
Some witnesses were able to video the kidnapping incident and it quickly went viral on social media.

There were also some people claiming to have witnessed the incident, some even posted what they saw on Twitter.

Ines said that they are now conducting a follow up investigation.
