Manila ready for ‘Tisoy’ emergencies

The local government of Manila has activated its emergency operation centers and disseminated alert notices in preparation for typhoon Tisoy.

On Monday, Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso ordered the activation of the local government’s emergency operation centers.

Manila Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (MDRRMO) issued a report stating that rescue centers in Baseco and Del Pan are now ready for use.

The MDRRMO also deployed amphibian, 4x4 rescue trucks, rubber boats, aluminum boats, and barracuda boats to assist the public during critical times. Rescue personnel were also alerted to take appropriate response actions.

Classes from preschool to senior high school in all public and private schools in Manila have already been declared suspended starting 12 noon on Monday.

As of 10 a.m, the eye of Typhoon Tisoy was located at 235 km east Southeast of Virac, Catanduanes or 250 km east of Juban, Sorsogon.
