According to the Mayor, the lighting activity from Padre Faura to Vito Cruz symbolizes the support of the local government to Filipino athletes who will compete in the SEAG.

“Maliwanag na sa buong Taft Avenue matapos ang tatlong taon na kadiliman. Pinailawan ng City Electrician’s Office ang lahat ng lamp posts sa naturang kalsada ngayong gabi,” the Mayor said.

Aside from the opening of new lamp posts, the city government conducted flushing and cleaning operations to remove the streets’ foul odor.

Domagoso also expressed his support for Filipino athletes through the #SEAGamesChallenge hashtag.

Moreno also hoped that the foreign visitors will appreciate the streets of the nation’s capital during the country’s hosting of the biennial 30th SEA Games which will start on November 30 until December 11.

The Rizal Sports Complex in Manila will host football, weightlifting, taekwondo and tennis competitions for the 2019 Southeast Asian Games.
