Letran honors top 400 Alumni


Since its founding in 1620,Colegio de San Juan de Letran has always lived up to its core values, its mission and vision, as well as its tradition of not only academic excellence, but also a tradition of being exemplary in all other aspects of the human person. Proof of this is seen in its distinguished alumni who have played significant roles in society and have made outstanding contributions with far-reaching impact.

Towards this end, and with year 2020, Letran’s Quadricentennial, in sight, the Colegio has established the “400 GrandesFiguras”,honoring 400 outstanding alumni who are living examples of true Letranites.

For his vision and noble work in the Wong Chu King Foundation, Inc. which aims to provide effective and inspiring opportunities that ensures the welfare and well-being of qualified beneficiaries in addition to addressing their needs in the areas of spirituality, education, environment and youth development, Mr. Alexander D. Wongchuking, was chosen as one of the awardees of the 400 GrandesFiguras of Colegio de San Juan de Letran.

Thus, last October 16, 2019, Mr. Alexander Wongchuking together with his wife Belen Wongchuking personally received the aforementioned award from his alma mater represented by Rev. Fr. Paul Lovell G. Javier, O.P. Vice President for Administrative Affairs and Director, Finance and Resources, and JhennieVillar together with Wong Chu King Foundation, Inc. officers Judge Oscar Barrientos (ret.) and P/BGen. Francisco Cristobal jr. (ret.) as seen in the above photo taken on the same date at the Wong Chu King Foundation Inc. office.

Through said awards, Colegio de San Juan de Letran continues to be faithful to its mission of producing worthy individuals who unfailingly contribute to the welfare and continuous progress of Philippine society.
