iPin is known for developing laser-based accessories for mobile devices. You might have heard about the iPin Laser Presenter, which turns your phone into a laser pointer using a pin plugged through the headphone jack?

This time, iPin has the Spatial Ruler Pro. It’s a solution for anyone deep into tech and needs a gizmo to measure spaces. The Spatial Ruler Pro a small rectangular device, about the same size of an action camera, that shoots a laser, measuring distances. On broad daylight, we were able to measure up to 29 meters.

You just hold the Spatial Ruler Pro in place, or position it on a flat surface, and press the measure button. Results will appear on the small screen. It’s quite impressive and from our own manual tests, the measurements were pretty accurate.

However, the measure button is a little hard to press, and exerting force into it causes the laser to wobble from its direction. Sometimes this would result to an “error” message, but more often than none, we still get the right measurements.

To make things easier, there is an app for both iOS and Android, and connects via Bluetooth. This app allows remote control measurements. You can also do special do door and window measurements and the app will swiftly just get all these details.

Among its packaging is a manual and a photo accessory package—a set of measuring cards, thin sheets of magnets, and adhesive, which would allow the Spatial device to latch onto your smartphone for more accuracy.

The laser can measure distance, length, width, and height. Through your smartphone, you can take a picture of the area and the Spatial Ruler Pro will begin taking measurements. The idea here, is instead of having a ladder, a measuring tape, pencils, and all that clutter, the iPin Spatial Ruler Pro is designed to that all-in-one device that simplifies measuring.
