Manila Auxiliary Bishop Broderick Pabillo said the hiring and firing of Robredo showed how fickle minded and insecure the President was.

"The hiring and firing of VP Leni show the fickleness of Duterte in the way he runs the country," he said in an interview.

Pabillo said Duterte has no plan at all, and only governs based n his "whims."

"It also shows his great insecurity in front of women. When they do something, he eliminates them, like what he did to Senator Leila De Lima, Sr. Patricia Fox, to Lourdes Sereno and now to VP Leni," he said.

"He shows his tyrannical bend. He cannot tolerate others who have different ways of doing things. He wants his own way at whatever cost it may be," added Pabillo.

Retired Sorsogon Bishop Arturo Bastes said the decision of Duterte was "shameful."

"He is treating the Vice President just like a housemaid of his Cabinet," he said.

Bastes believes the Chief Executive was afraid that the Robredo would discover an anomaly in the drug war, and this was the reason why he fired her.

"I think that the real reason for firing her is that she is going to discover criminal anomalies in the drug war including the suspicion that Duterte could be cuddling drug lords like his friend Peter Lim," he said.

Duterte fired Robredo, Sunday, only weeks after he appointed her to the post.
