65 DFA personnel complete training on administrative justice

About 65 personnel from various consular, administrative, and policy offices of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) have participated in a recent seminar-workshop aimed to hone and equip them with basic principles and processes of handling administrative justice.

DFA Undersecretary for Administration J. Eduardo Malaya and the Board of Foreign Service Administration (BFSA) Secretariat spearheaded the conduct of the Seminar-Workshop on Administrative Justice (SWAJ) on Nov. 6, 2019, at the Elpidio Quirino Hall, DFA main office in Pasay City.

In his remarks, Malaya stressed the value of honing the legal skills of people involved in the investigation and prosecution of administrative cases and equipping administrative officers and other personnel with basic information on administrative justice principles and processes.

The seminar-workshop was facilitated by Vlademir Villacorta, a senior lawyer at the Office of the Legal Affairs of the Civil Service Commission.

Among the major topics discussed during the seminar-workshop were the 2017 Rules on Administrative Cases in the Civil Services (2017 RACCS), administrative rules on sexual harassment cases, and the latest administrative jurisprudence, investigation procedures, and evidence appreciation.
