UPS currently discussing the results of the 2019 UPS Industrial Buying Dynamics Asia Pacific Study and 2019 UPS Pulse of the Online Shopper Asia Pacific Study this morning at Quest Plus Conference Center in Clark, Pampanga.

Chris Buono, Managing Director, UPS Philippines and Indonesia talks about the shift in buying and industrial purchasing among Asian B2B and B2C buyers in the region.

The study shows the rise of e-commerce when it comes to global trade. "Our key takeaway is that solutions should aim to balance convenience and innovation of advanced technologies with human touchpoints. Software, no matter how smart, is hard pressed to replace the impact and rapport of interpersonal relations," Chris noted.

Now on its seventh year, the UPS Pulse of the Online Shopper study sheds light on consumer online shoppong behavior. It also, for the first time, features insights into the buying habits of business purchasers. Conducted in Australia, China, Hong Kong, and South Korea as well as 11 other markets across the Americas, Europe, and India, the study tracks evolving trends and demands from e-commerce customers.

"B2C has flourished and is a good opportunity for online businesses. E-commerce sales continue to climb across regions and in the Philippines. According to UPS Pulse of the Online Shopper 2019 survey, buyers do their research first (search engines, social media platforms, websites, and market places like Lazada and Shopee); buy or make purchases through marketplaces; expect flexibility on delivery options and how they will receive packages at home; look for easy return policies; and retain or repeat online purchases if they are satisfied with good services, and if it comes with perks and rewards included to their purchases," explained Marianne Mendoza, Head of Marketing, UPS Philippines and Indonesia.

Today's event INSIGHTS TO INNOVATE: UPS Learning Session for Global Manufacturers and Retailers presented representatives from PHILEXPORT R3 (Philippine Exporters Confederation, Inc.), CILA (Clark Investors and Locators Associations), and UPS.
