"First, hindi po ako anti-media, I have never been and I will never be," Sinas said in an interview with ANC's Headstart.

“Akin lang, after two weeks of series of tawag. I told them hindi pa ako pwede. I have to settle in. I have to talk to my people,” he clarified.

Sinas reportedly told the members of the NCRPO press corps to vacate its office premises as he needed to use the space for additional office space. Sinas had also reportedly prohibited ambush interviews from reporters.

"When I went there, I told them na kanino ba 'tong lugar. Sabi nila, ‘Sir, sa inyo,' 'So could I get it?' Kinausap ko sila, the president and the secretary kung hindi, pwede ko ba gamitin. I didn’t kick them out," he said.

Sinas clarified that he intended to hold press briefings at Station 7, his headquarters in Bicutan but reporters said they would not go.

"Sabi ko I’ll give you a space in Bicutan, doon tulungan ko kayo, this one I need para I set the interview here in Station 10 and scheduled it, supposed to be Monday but ginawa naming Tuesday at saka (and) Friday," Sinas added.

"Mahirap makipag-away sa opinion eh.. How I wish I could convince them of my sincerity but sincerity and respect is earned," he added.

Sinas replaced Maj. Gen. Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar as NCRPO chief after the latter was promoted as the Chief Directorial Staff, the fourth highest position at the Philippine National Police.
