Santa Maria remains PAL president-COO; 'Bong' Tan heads PAL Holdings, Inc.


Flag-carrier Philippine Airlines clarified yesterday that Gilbert Santa Maria remains as President and Chief Operating Officer.

“We are issuing this clarification amidst queries on the state of affairs at the national flag carrier,” the PAL statement said.

At PAL's regular monthly board meeting held at the Century Park Hotel in Manila on 28 October 2019, Gilbert Santa Maria presented his 90-day report on PAL and his turnaround plan for the airline for implementation beginning this coming year 2020.

His presentation was well-received by members of the PAL board and PAL Chairman Lucio C. Tan, the statement added.

In a separate meeting by PAL Holdings, Inc. (holding company of PAL), Lucio 'Bong' K.Tan, Jr., was appointed as president of PAL Holdings.

Meanwhile, PAL is expecting a large volume of passengers traveling to the provinces during this year’s All Saints' Day / All Souls' Day (‘Undas’) season, from October 25 to November 4, 2019 and advises passengers to arrive at their assigned airport terminal three hours before their scheduled departure for international flights and 2 hours before departure, for domestic flights,
To avoid inconvenience, passengers should also have their valid passport or government - issued ID.

They should also check their flight status and terminal assignment before heading to the airport by clicking the Flight Status Tab in the PAL website, or by calling (02) 8855-8888 then pressing 2 for Arrival and Departure Information. Flight information is available two days before until two days after flight departure.
