Nigerian man nabbed in Cavite shabu bust

CAMP GEN. PANTALEON GARCIA, IMUS, Cavite---A Nigerian man was arrested by police after he was caught with 220 grams of shabu during a drug bust in Bayan Luma IV, this city.

In its report released Thursday, the Cavite Police Provincial Office (PPO)  identified the suspect as Leonard Monday Ohaeri, a 27-year-old native of Lagos and residing at BF Resort Village in  Las Piñas City.

Ohaeri was arrested 8 a.m. Wednesday by a team from the Cavite police Intelligence Branch and the Dasmariñas police.

Staff Sergeant Jeremiah Dela Cruz Baniasia, officer-on-case, said the team nabbed Ohaeri after an officer posing as a buyer purchased from him P200,000 worth of shabu.

Another sachet of shabu and a green "eco-bag" was also found from Ohaeri during his arrest.

The shabu seized from Ohaeri was 220 grams worth P1.360,000.

The confiscated substance was brought to the Cavite Crime Laboratory in Imus for examination.

It was the second drug bust in Imus in the past two days.

In the first on Tuesday, a drug suspect was killed in a shootout with police.

A woman, who was wounded in the right wrist in the encounter, and two other male companions were also arrested.

Police reported that six sachets of shabu were seized from the suspects.
