Senator Christopher Go said Tuesday that President Duterte's spinal pain has nothing to do with any other illnesses and that he is going home early only because of the minor injuries he sustained in a motorcycle accident last week.

It was announced by the Palace that Duterte will cut short his trip to Japan and will fly home on Tuesday night due to "unbearable pain" in his spine after falling off from a motorcycle in Malacañang last Wednesday.

Go, who is with the Chief Executive in Japan, maintained that the President is "okay" despite suffering back pain.

"Okay lang . Masakit likod niya spine dahil sa disgrasya motor (He is okay. His back is aching because of the motorcycle accident)," Go said in a text message when asked about the President's health.

"Wala po (It has nothing to do with other illnesses)," he added.

Duterte arrived in Japan Tuesday morning to attend the enthronement ceremony of Emperor Naruhito. Photos released showed the President using a cane.

Her daughter, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, will be attending the official banquet in his place.

Duterte will see his neurologist tomorrow, October 23.

Go earlier bared that Duterte figured in a motorcycle mishap Wednesday night. The President, however, supposedly told him that he was not hurt and that the people should not worry.
